The Crude Spear is a craftable tool item found in Stranded Deep.
Gameplay
The Crude Spear is a craftable weapon allowing the player to injure and kill crabs and larger animals by either stabbing or throwing, the latter at lesser effectiveness than with a Refined Spear.
Crude Spears deal the same amount of damage as Arrows, but stack lower. As such, they occupy more inventory slots whenever hunting an animal which requires more than two stacks of Crude Spears to kill (like Sharks). Conversely, however, since the crafting of Crude Spears does not require Stone Tools, they are less costly in production and a more tolerable loss whenever broken or unretrievable.
Crude Spears will break if shot into hard surfaces like rock or steel.
Unlike the Fishing Spear, however, it cannot be used to hunt fish by stabbing.

Trivia
- Despite the fact that the Crude Spear possesses the same amount of durability and deals equal stab stamage as the Fishing Spear and deals more damage than the latter when thrown, it is still described as a "crude tool", whereas the Fishing Spear is decribed as "refined".
